ARCCIM to receive $370,000 research funding over 5 years

The naturopathy research mentoring program conducted by the Australian Research Centre for Complementary and Integrative Medicine (at University of Technology Sydney) has achieved outstanding results, and consequently the Jacka Foundation will continue to fund it until 2021. In addition, the Foundation has awarded ARCCIM a further $50,000 per year for the period 2017-2021 for research related to naturopathy. The naturopathy research mentoring program will receive $120,000 in all and the research program $250,000, making a total of $370,000 in JFNT funding for the period 2017-2021 inclusive.

Under the leadership of Distinguished Professor Jon Adams, the first 18 months of the international naturopathy research mentoring program saw the Fellows (all naturopaths) achieve a wealth of research output including around 50 peer-reviewed articles (published/submitted), nine book chapters, 15 conference presentations and seven collaborative research projects. A number of the Fellows have also received prestigious awards and/or work promotions as a result of their ARCCIM Fellowship.

JFNT looks forward to our ongoing collaboration with the ARCCIM team, and the continued success of the naturopathy Fellows and other researchers at the Centre. The ARCCIM initiative is contributing greatly to the development of a research community for naturopathy, both within Australia and internationally.
