New push for statutory registration of naturopaths and Western herbalists

The Federal government has opened a new pathway for unregistered health professions to apply for statutory regulation. A submission will be prepared by the Australian Register of Naturopaths and Herbalists (ARONAH), a non-government, voluntary register that supports government regulation.

ARONAH is currently raising funds to pay for the cost of updating a 2005 research report that recommended registration for naturopathy and Western herbal medicine. The aim is to raise $20,000, which will be matched by Marcus Blackmore, a long-time supporter of registration. The response from practitioners and industry has been outstanding!
